Michael Dempsey

Mike Born November 29th, 1958 in Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia

Mike was a founding member of the band filling the role of bass player. He sang lead vocals for 'Foxy Lady' on 'Three Imaginary Boys' and has the distinction of being the only other person besides Robert to have sang lead vocals on a released Cure song. His final live performance with The Cure was on 17th October, 1979 at the Dominion Theatre in Cottenham. On leaving the band, Mike says he was "holding back the band's set" and that it was a "clash of personalities."
